The Gwen Knapp Center for Lupus and Immunology Research was founded in 1991. Contributions from donors listed on this display have enabled the recruitment of key faculty members, staff, and the creation of an immunology program where collaboration and community drive research and discovery.

The Gwen and Jules Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery is named in honor of Gwen and Jules Knapp, longtime supporters of the University of Chicago Medicine. Gwen served as a life member of the Division of the Biological Sciences and Pritzker School of Medicine Advisory Council at the University of Chicago. Jules served as a life trustee on the University of Chicago Medical Center Board of Trustees.
