Bernard Mitchell Hospital

Built in 1983, the Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital is a six-story facility at the heart of the University of Chicago Medicine’s historic Hyde Park campus. The hospital houses a variety of specialty care services, including a post-natal mother-baby unit, advanced imaging, physical therapy, dialysis access center, and in-patient units.

Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital is named in honor of Chicago manufacturing executive and philanthropist Bernard Mitchell. Bernard’s spouse Marjorie Mitchell served as a life trustee on the University of Chicago Medical Center Board of Trustees.
