Established in 2017, the Duchossois Family Institute: Harnessing the Microbiome and Immunity for Human Health (DFI) is dedicated to expanding our understanding of the microbiome’s impact on the immune system and translating discoveries into clinical therapies that will maximize good health. Fostering pioneering interdisciplinary research, the DFI houses advanced facilities and promotes commercialization to help speed new treatments to more patients.
The DFI is named in honor of the Duchossois family, whose support for science and medicine programs at University of Chicago Medicine spans several decades and multiple generations of family members.
