The Leon Resnekov Cardiovascular Teaching Center was named in memory of Dr. Leon Resnekov, a pioneer in the use of electrical shock to treat heart rhythm disturbances as well as in the nuclear imaging of the heart. Dr. Resnekov was a former co-director of the Section of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago.
