The Ludwig Center for Metastasis brings together scientists from the fields of molecular and cell biology, bioinformatics, chemistry, genetics, imaging, and medicine to expand our understanding of how cancer spreads and to develop therapeutics for treatment and prevention.
The Ludwig Center University of Chicago is one of six Ludwig Centers established in the US in 2006 by the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to cancer discovery, with funding from the Virginia and D.K. Ludwig Fund for Cancer Research. The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research was established in 1971 by American businessman Daniel K. Ludwig.
