On its opening in 2013, the ten-story Center for Care and Discovery was the single largest expansion in the University of Chicago Medicine’s history. Encompassing more than one million square feet, the facility is one of the largest buildings on the University of Chicago campus and houses research laboratories, patient facilities, and numerous specialty care units. The Center for Care and Discovery is flexibly designed to accommodate ongoing developments in patient care, technology, and clinical research.
